Overview about the Manufacturing
Consortium |

The Manufacturing Consortium is an association
of Manufacturing companies (SME’s) in the Milton Keynes
and Thames Valley area. It works to address the demands of
manufacturers in the area, and to exploit synergistic opportunities
for its members.
Its objectives are:
- To provide a forum which brings together Manufacturing
expertise in the MKOB area.
- To exploit current and potential opportunities,
and improve members competitive advantage through collaborative
working.
- To provide an ongoing programme of training
and development delivered through a network of approved
training providers.
- To deliver training in a cost effective manner
by capitalising on available funding, and the benefits
of group membership.
- To deliver financial savings to members by negotiating
group purchasing deals (e.g. utilities, telecommunications,
waste
disposal contracts etc)
- To identify the skills within each sector, and
work to protect and improve these.
- To enable members to identify and exploit synergistic
commercial opportunities.
- To act as a voice for members addressing issues
at a national and a local level, and to raise the profile
of Manufacturing
in the MKOB area.
- To offer guidance and expertise on new and existing
initiatives within the industry.
